OK.. I will soon be buying a computer.. and i want to get a wireless router
(pref. from linksys)... I dont know what to buy, so if u could help, that
would be great!! Ok, I want to split an internet connection from our
downstairs computer/internet to my room upstairs. What would i all need to
buy to get a wireless network started? i know i need a wireless router, but
i dont know which kind? I want the one just right for our the internet at a
reasonable price.. I am running off of a dsl connection at 100Mbps... Would
i also need any additional equip (wireless card, etc.) for my computer that
i am going to buy? Thanks for n e help
Stats: DSL 100Mbps, OS: Windows XP

Any linksys wireless router with 802.11g standard will be fine.
(802.11g - fastest maximum speed; supports more simulatenous users; signal
range is best and is not easily obstructed ).
And for the wireless card for your PC you need to check with the
compatability of the router.

router and directly hook it up to my computer with out the accessories, or

if you connect your computer direclty to the router(means via ethernet
cable) then you dont need any wireless card.
if you want to have a wireless connection then you need to buy a compatible
wireless card for your wireless router. |
