Mobile And Wireless Operators Missing Out On $24-30 Million Per Month

Mobixell reveals findings from tier one mobile operator stats as it passes the half billion end user milestone

Cupertino, CA, -/Wi-Fi Technology News/- Mobixell Networks, a leading provider of innovative mobile multimedia and advertising solutions, has released findings from its live networks’ information gathered that underline the importance of ensuring a consistent user experience in driving recurrent mobile content revenues.

The statistics, aggregated from pre and post deployment stats from seven tier one European operators, highlight the incremental revenue achieved from new and existing subscribers in offering an improved customer experience in the use of mobile content. The findings were released as Mobixell surpassed the milestone of half a billion end user customers for its multimedia adaptation and mobile marketing solutions.

Live, on-site, network testing, conducted in conjunction with individual operator’s marketing management teams, measured the impact of using Mobixell’s media adaptation and delivery solutions on driving the regular use of rich media mobile services such as content download, browsing, mobile video, and MMS. Key findings demonstrated that significant improvements to delivery were achieved in 25-45% of communications which resulted in an increase of between 10-15% on recurrent revenues from existing subscribers (which equates to an average of $24-30 million per month per tier 1 operators).

The other key area impacted by the introduction of the improved user experience was the operator’s ability to attract new users. Revenue from new users or from the introduction of new services to existing users was estimated to be in the region of 10-25% per annum. These statistics were attributed to the enhanced ability of the operator to turn first time users into regular mobile content users and from the operator’s willingness to promote new services, confident in the knowledge that the user experience would be a positive one.

Commenting on the findings as the company announced its 500 millionth user from its 300 mobile operator customer base worldwide, Avichai Levi, Senior VP Marketing at Mobixell pointed to the importance of a guaranteed user experience in developing demand for emerging new multimedia services live video-streaming and mobile advertising: “It’s no longer only the subscribers that expect a certain level of service; advertisers will also want to know that they are reaching potential customers effectively and efficiently. It has long been understood in traditional and online advertising that achieving the required brand awareness, based on excellent creative concepts, requires a consistent and positive user experience. Our proven track record in guaranteeing a reliable, high quality user experience puts us in an ideal position to assist operators moving into these burgeoning markets.”
