Have you a wired broadband conection currently?
What coverage do you require?

Im assuming you are english, so i would say go into PC world and Buy a broadband wireless stater kit.
Things to make sure you get right.

1: If you have cable internet or adsl ie bt. the routers are diffrent.
2: buy a router with a built in modem
3: if its for a laptop, do you have a pci card slot or built in wi-fi?

I would probaly recomend a netgear router, not because there good but because they have a simple setup guide.

If you do get a netgear you get a setup disk for the modem/router. throw that away and just put power to the router, plug the phone connction into it, plug an ethernet cable from the compter to the router and type 192.168.0.1 in the internet browser and login, netgear factory username is: ADMIN & Password is: PASSWORD the click on the setup wizard..

and probs PM me.. Good LUCK
