Hello,
I have set up a wireless connection between the D-Link DWL-G520+ PCI card & a U.S. Robotics MAXg router (Model 9108).

But strange things happen when the wireless connection is activated, such as slowdowns in Winamp/Media Player (the easiest to find out since music is not played continuously). Also, sometimes the connection fails with no apparent reason, and is established again some other time after many restarts/shutdowns, but no change to the settings.

I prefer using the D-LINK utility to the Wireless Zero Service of Windows, but the effect is the same.

Does anybody have an idea of what may be going on? It's really annoying to have wireless equipment and have 10-meter ethernet cables roaming around the house...

P.S. The wired connection is working flawlessly

I'm also having this problem with the same card. Having done some investigations I have changed the PCI slot, re-installed the software, disabled firewalls and tinkered with all settings to no avail.

If no one has any ideas I'm sending the card back.

Thanks.

Try moving your router closer to your PC, is the signal low?

Another thing is to try and setup static ip addresses on your machines rather than dynamic. Ive had problems with D-Link equpiment, never got to the bottom of it but it stopped playing up when i used static addresses
