Hi,
lately I'm having problems with my dc power jack in my laptop (DELL inspiron 2650). What to do? Can I replace the jack only?

Yes, you can replace only the DC power jack. You can find many kind of jacks in DC power jack . I hope the problem is just in your DC power jack and not something worse!

Do they have other kinds of jacks as ps/2 (which it seems that I need in addition...) or just DC power jack?

I think they deal only with DC power jack...

I think I'll give DC power jack a go and try replace it by myself...wish me luck!

You don't have to do it by yourself, you can send them over your laptop and they'll fix it for ya.

It’s not as hard or as easy as you may think to open up a laptop but it is tedious and loads of screw and small parts. I found a cleverly made DVD Tutorial Video on how to open just about any Laptop and replace the power jack at this address that may help http://www.powerjackrepair.com there are a lot of hints and tips there too.

Tip.
Take a sheet(s) of A4 - place it next to your work area, somewhere safe. Then as you remove a screw place it within a drawn circle in the same area on the sheet.
Not fool proof, but better than a cap off an arosol can/ashtray .

laptoprepair101.com is a really good DIY laptop repair site has loads of info on this and other repairs.

If you want a technician to do it look up GigaBytz.com (UK England) or laptopguy.com (USA)
