Hello, I have two wireless enabled laptops and have
just purchased broadband. It works great with the
USB modem, but I am wanting to go wireless.
The question is, can I have one router downstairs
sitting next to the phone point with no computer
wired to it, and then sit elsewhere in the
house on both laptops browsing the internet? Or do
I always need a PC wired to it?
Any help will be much aprechiated. Also, if you
could suggest what router I need?

Yes, you can, since you already got modem router,
then go to get a wireless access point and
connect it to modem router with crossover cable
(can use straight cable if auto MDIX feature is
supported). I would recommend you to use Linksys or
Dlink access point, pretty good the performance.
You then configure the access point, so that the
labtops could connect to it wirelessly.
Hope the info helps..
