I'm not much of a networking guy, in fact, I know very little. But I'd
appreciate any help and insight any of you could offer to me about my
situation.
In my apartment, I am using a D-Link DI-624 Wireless Router with a Seimens
SpeedStream DSL modem. All of the laptops receive a pretty good signal
from the router - the apartment below receives good signal as well.
However, the apartment adjacent to ours (we have a very long apartment
building) does not receive a good signal at all. I've attempted to move
the router as close to their apartment as possible and I've received
lackluster results. The apartment is one floor down from ours, so the
wireless signal must travel diagonally through floors and multiple
walls.
I do have a second D-Link router. I'm wondering if I can either wirelessly
or used a Cat 5 cable to tie the second router into the first router and
distribute the signal to the other apartment. How do I go about doing
this? The second router is a DLink DI524.
