I have a cable modem connected to my PC via USB. If I buy a wireless access
point(USB or ethernet model), will I able to connect it directly to my PC
to allow other computers in the house with wireless adapters to connect to
the internet without any need to purchase any routers? I am already using a
wired LAN with 3 network cards in my PC so that 3 other computers can share
the broadband connection through the USB modem and everything works
fine.
Thanks.

Seeing that you have all these NIC cards in your computer it seems that it
is time for you to purchase a wireless router. They are not much more than
an access point and will resolve your problem. Below is a reply that I gave
to someone else in this forum and purtains to having a usb broadband
connection.
You can purchase two items that will relove this problem. The first being a
NIC card for your computer if you do not currently have one installed. Once
the card is installed all you need to do is go into network properties and
bridge the two connections. You will then need to purchase a wireless
router and connect a CAT5 cable to the from your computer to the wireless
router you should now have internet. There might be a product that
currently can do this but I do not know of one.
