Hello everyone:
I am in the process of planning a wireless apartment community and need
some advice and reccomendations on how to set-up the network & what
equipment is necessary. I am planning on using one Network controller and
one long range access point as outlined below. Please take a look and let
me know if the equipment and placement of the equipment will work. I
appreciate any help i can get.
Test Community Statistics
*200 Apartment Units
*Buildings Constructed of Concrete Block Walls
-Each unit has 3 4'x5' windows and one sliding glass door unit
*Buildings are three Stories mostly 24 Units per Building
*Total Coverage area is 325’ Right Broadcast x 325’ Left Broadcast x 370’
Front Broadcast & 50' Backward Forecast
*Total size of community is 650 feet wide x 370 feet deep and the access
point will be in the back of the community.
Test Pilot – My Presumptions
**I will be connecting my initial test network via a cable broadband
connection possibly using a "WC-3000" Wireless Network Controller directly
from my broadband modem. After initial distance and connectivity tests, I
will be upgrading to a T-1 prior to offering service to the public.

QUESTION: Does the WC-3000 Network Controller Connect Directly to Broadband
& T-1 without the use of a router?
QUESTION: Will the product provide support for my initial test connection
to cable broadband and transition to T-1 or T-3 at my later transition?
**I would like to install the "Super AP 510g 500 MW Access Point” to expand
my wi-fi network thorough the community.

QUESTION: Can this device "Super AP 510g 500 MW Access Point” connect
through Ethernet Cable to the WC-3000 Network Controller? The WC-3000 is
102.11b wireless while the AP 510g is 102.1g/b wireless. Can I maintain the
102.1g connection while connecting to the WC-3000 Network Controller
wirelessly?
QUESTION: Will the WC-3000 allow me to forward ports to specific internal
IP’s, associate MAC addresses with external IP assignments, & assign
specific internal IP address to user names? If not, what are your
recommendations to allow these services?
QUESTION: What antenna would you recommend to use with your Super Ap 510g
500 MW Access Point to allow me to cover the areas outlined in the attached
diagram? What is the approximate costs / vender information for this
antenna?
I appreciate any feedback anyone can give me on the topic or any other
equipment reccomendations they may know of to create a long range wireless
network.
Thanks,
Jason

QUESTION: Does the WC-3000 Network Controller Connect Directly to Broadband
& T-1 without the use of a router?
The WC-3000 provides feature rich networking capabilities including DHCP
Server, DHCP
Client, PPPoE, DHCP Proxy, and HTTP Proxy. This means the WC-3000 can
connect to
any DSL, cable, T1, or other broadband service available, offering you the
widest range of
choices.
