Hi. I'm a programmer, but I'm pretty hopeless when it comes to the network side of things, so this is probably a pretty simple question for most of you out there, I just want to be pointed in a direction before I start exploring things!

We have a wired router at home connected to our cable modem. We also have a wireless access point (currently an Airport Express, but will probably be replaced with something else easier to interface with PCs that doesn't need special software to configure) plugged into the router.

The wired computers are in a workgroup and can access the internet through the router gateway and see each other and share data, where we've given them firewall permission to do so. The wireless computers can also see each other and can access the internet through the router gateway.

My problem is that the wired computers can't see and share data with the wireless ones, and vice-versa.

This has only been a mildly annoying problem until recently. We've bought an HP multifunciton printer/scanner/fax, etc. which we have connected wirelessly. Again, the other wireless computers can see the HP, but the wired ones can't.

I'm assuming that I can probably bridge the two connections somewhere in the massive settings available from the router... it's a Netgear with an awful lot of things that can be set.

But I just want to confirm that I'm moving in the right direction here before I begin messing with settings on the router... and exactly what sort of thing am I looking for? A section that talks about bridging connections?

Perhaps I have to tweak some settings on the access point as well, in order to get it to let the router assign IPs, etc.?

Any confirmation or pointing in the right direction on this would be appreciated... and if anyone has advice on Airport Express specifically and how to deal with it in this situation, all the better. I'd like to get this setup using the Airport Express before we go out and buy something else and make the Airport Express our traveling wireless access point!
