Hi
I was wondering if some smart techie out there
could help. I apologize if the information is too
vague but my girlfriend has just left Canada to
go to Sao Paulo for two months to do some
research. She has with her a Toshiba Satellite
laptop and all I know about it is that it is
an Intel Core Duo Processor with an 80 GB hard
drive and built in wireless card and it is
around 1 year old.
The wireless internet worked fine when she left but
since she arrived in Brazil, she cannot connect
to anything at all. She can see wireless networks
available and, even when given the network key,
she still cannot connect to them. I am fishing
in the dark here as my technical knowledge extends
about as far as my little finger but, is there
any setting that needs to be changed to allow
her to connect to a wireless network in Brazil
that would be different from Canada?
Also, again, and I know this is not the place
but her friend who she is staying with still has
dial up. Is there anything I can do to get
her computer to successfully log onto that as well
as she cannot connect to that either.
Any help anyone can offer me would be greatly
appreciated as my girlfriend is starting to panic a
little as she cannot do the work she is
supposed to be doing and so far, two people from
a couple of internet cafes have not been able
to solve the problem because the laptop is in
English.
Kind regards
Rob
