Hi I,m new here hope someone can help me. I have a Belkin f5d7230 router
and I am having problems with signal strength and connectivity. I can very
rarely get anything other than very low or low (max 11mbps) transfer
speeds. I have tried moving the router to different locations around the
house but stil find that connection speeds are limited. I also find that i
can only get a decent internet connection through my laptop when i am in my
living room which is directly below the room my router is normally located
in. I also have a third pc which is in my sons bedroom and I use a Belkin
usb wifi dongle to connect to the router, Even though the two bedrooms are
only about 12 feet apart I still only get low or very low connection speeds
and intermittent internet connection. I am sorry to make this a long post
but I thought I should include as much info as possible. My brother-in-law
has the same router but does not seem to have the same problems as I do but
i am not sure if this is down to the house or if I may have a problem with
my router. I have two questions
1) is there any way to increase the power/signal output of the router?
2) is there an optimal location for a router for maximum connectivity
strength/speeds?
Any help or info would be gratefully received and appreciated.
