Hi everyone,

I have a slight problem and i am hoping someone can help.

We have always had broadband connection in one of the rooms upstairs but now we would like the PC in a new room downstairs. So i was told to purchase a wireless router and a USB adapter. So i obliged and bought a netgear rangemax WPN824 wireless router and a netgear wireless WPN111 USB adapter.

Now for the life of me i cant get the router to work.

I have it set up so that one cable running from my broadband modem into the internet slot on the router then another cable running from slot 1 on the router into the broadband slot at the back of my PC but nothing happens. The USB Adapter is also plugged in.

Am i doing this all wrong? And if ever it all gets working is it even possible to have my pc running downstairs whilst the broadband connection is upstairs?

Thanks in advance,

David.

sounds good, that slot should probably say something like "WAN".

Uh.... you are using a cablre *and* the USB at the same time? Bad idea. The point of having the wireless USB is that you *shouldn't* have to use the cable anymore, after all.

It moight be easier though to check stuff wit hthe cable - but remove the USB for the time being.
