Hi there
I'm new to wi-fi technology and I'm purchasing a
PACKARD BELL EASYNOTE E 6310 LAPTOP it's not wi-fi
capable but it does has a PCMCIA slot, what
I'm wondering is how do I go about upgrading the
laptop so it is wi-fi capable i.e. I can walk
into a place where there is a wi-fi hotspot
and just connect to it, rather than having to
have my own network at home with a wireless
router.
Thanx in advance for any help/advice
And I apologise if I have posted in the wrong
place.

ravenmorpheus,
If your Packard Bell has a PCMCIA slot, just
carry the Cardbus card with you. When you get to
a coffeshop wifi just plug in your card and
you're surfing. I recommend you don't carry the
computer around with the Cardbus card installed. If
you bump the card against something hard it'll
break the solder joint in the computer.
