Hi all, Yeah bassicly I currently have a normal PCI wireless card connected
via SMA conector to a 15Dbi hawkins antenna I which can be seen on the link
below:

I use it to connect to my friends network, he lives accross the road...
roughly 300 meters away but there is some traffic going by the road however
I still remain at 60% signal and he is on 8MB broadband so all in all its
not too bad and I cant complain but he refuses to put up an antenna at his
end ive asked!. But anyway I was looking on ebay and I ended up buying a
Yagi 19Dbi antenna just to see if there is any difference at all becuase it
was quite cheap from poland... can be seen on the link here: []
but anyway I just wonderd if there is any reviews on the Yagi 19 as I cant
find any, also if anyone has one what are they like? i.e do you think it
will have a better signal/range than my current one? thanks alot

Hives,
The Hawkins antenna looks like a corner reflector. Like the yagi, they are
fairly narrow band. I'm assuming you're in the 2.4GHz band. Ideally,
between 2.4GHz and 2.4835GHz it would be best to use an antenna with at
least a 5% bandwidth. However, wider the bandwidth of the antenna it's
generally more expensive. It's easy and cheap to make a narrow band
antenna. Say, 1.5% bandwidth. If you are going to create a link between
these two antennas I recommend you play with the channels to find the
"sweet" spot. Generally, antenna designers put the sweet spot somewhere
between channels 5 & 7.
