Hello guys,
I am running into some problem while setting up a wireless network. My
setup is as follows:
I have a linux box with two ethernet cards one connected to internet and
other connected to my belkin router which i am using as an access point
only. My linux box is running DHCP server and also routes traffic i have
tested the settings and its working fine.
Now the problem is when my wireless clients connects to my access points
they are not getting an ip address from the DHCP server ( which is my linux
box).
My local network is 192.168.2.1/255
the ip i have given to access point is 192.168.2.3
and dhcp is configured to assign ip in the range 192.168.2.10 -
192.168.2.254
please help me figure out whats wrong with the setup

Does this mean that you have taken a computer using a wired network
connection and connected it to the internal nic (same one belkin is
connected to) of your linux server and successfully got an ip address and
browsed the internet? If so, then it would seem to be an issue with the
belkin. If this belkin is a router not an access point only, then you need
to connect the linux server to one of the lan ports of the belkin not the
wan or internet port. Also, be sure to shutoff dhcp on the belkin and make
sure that you configured the lan side of the belkin, not the wan, with the
192.168.2.3. I have never specifically used the belkin, but I have
successfully used several other brands of wireless routers in this same
exact fashion.
hope this helps
