I just installed a WG311 V3 on my desktop and got a strong signal indication but no internet connection. I have a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router and the WG311 configuration is correct as far as I can tell. I know the router is working because I can connect with my wireless laptop. Appreciate any helpful suggestions.

Check your WG311 computer is connected to the ssid name configured on your linksys wireless router. By default the ssid name of linksys wireless router is "Linksys". Disable the XP firewall. Go to start run, type cmd and go the command prompt. Type in ipconfig and check the ipaddress of your computer. Try to ping the default gateway (DG) address (By default it should be 192.168.1.1), If you are able to ping DG, then ping 4.2.2.2, if u get reply then ping www.yahoo.com. If you are NOT able to ping yahoo, try pinging this address 216.239.57.99 (Google's IP). If you are able to ping this IP then it there is a problem resolving the DNS from ypur computer. So, Wireless Lan properties, go to it's TCP/IP and assingn static DNS as 4.2.2.2 (Prefered DNS) and 4.2.2.1 (Alternate DNS). Aplly the settings and u'll be able to open a web page now.

Get back to me if u still having any probelm
