Hi

Im a newbie and this really starrting to pish me off now, so any help would be greatly appreciated

Got a wireless network at home, which has 1 pc wired in to router and another pc with a wireless card this works spot on no problems. Just got myself a laptop and got wireless pcmcia card to link into system all components are a brand called mentor, problem is once i had installed drivers and software it picked up network no problem and had internet access but this only last couple of mins max and now the only way to get internet access is to reboot laptop and internet comes back but only for couple of mins.
Anyone have any ideas what the fault could be ????

Also please ensure while internet goes off form laptop . check with the Desktop PC having wireless card. Please make a try by changing your PCMCIA card of lapto.

Please try using some popular branded company cards. May be the hardware is causing some problem.

You could be getting interference from another source such as a microwave or mobile phone, tv etc...
P2P programmes can cause internet explorer to disconnect as well so make sure they are not loading or active.
try clearing the internet cache with a cleaning programm such as advance windowscare at download.com (free).
does the problem only exist when the laptop is running from battery power or is it the same running from the mains?
try changing the channel on the router as well in case another natwork is nearby and causing interference.
finally... does you isp only allow a certain number of connections??

best of luck and if all else fails then try upgrading the drivers, closing down all other programmes (except the firewall) and try again...check settings on router....
