This Thursday, I am having cable/broadband internet access set up on my MSN
TV 2. I have had high speed internet set up on it before, no problems, it
was wonderful. However, I also have a wireless capable laptop that I would
like to share the high speed connection of the MSNtv with over a wireless
connection. I also have a Linksys wireless router from a previous
connection. Due to restrictions in my family, the primary connection can
not be hooked up on the laptop, it has to be on the msn tv. This causes a
problem.
My question is, first off, is it possible to have a primary cable internet
connection (its Adelphia if that helps) on the MSN TV and hook up the
wireless router to the MSN TV or the cable modem to project a signal that I
can connect to with my laptop? I would assume some configuring will be
needed as well, and if need be I can connect my laptop directly to the
cable modem using an ethernet cable for a short period to do so, but this
can not be permanent.
Secondly, I'd like to know if there is anyway I could have the router
plugged in (hidden) somewhere else in the house, not connected to the cable
modem streaming into the MSN TV and not connected to the laptop, but still
projecting a signal from the MSN TV to my laptop? If this can be done, do I
have to purchase a wifi USB adapter to connect to the MSN TV? Basically, I
dont want it to be known that I have internet access on the laptop. How can
I do this?
Please reply, I would appreciate any advice or ideas greatly!
