Thread: Wireless connection problems

HI there folks,

The probs I have been getting are this, I have a home network all routed through a ADSL modem router. 3 wired station and a new wireless station. I have the access point hooked to the router and have got that working (new firmware and so on) and I have the wireless machine set up no more than 2meters away. Although I can get the connection working I cant get it to remain hooked up for longer than 30 seconds to a minute, is there anything glaringly obvious that I am doin wrong here. (BTW its a EDIMAX WAP and PCI card, the PC is running XP)

hi

the problem you are facing is quite general with wireless connection...
r you a codeless phone in your home or microwave oven....
if yes try to change channel in router as 11 or 1...
and then try to connect with wireless connection....

I was having the same problem, 2 days + 1 rebuild!! I was going nuts, tried everything...the channel change seems to have worked for the time being ( I hope it holds out!!)

Cheers

I have a similar problem. The signal is low and the router is only 15 feet away from the wireless card. Worked 5 hours with the DLink techs nothing worked. Finally told to replace router and card...did so but same results...I am not near any transformers or radio towers...in a quiet neighborhood...will try another router brand but would apprciate any help...Thanks
