I posted this elsewhere too, maybe somebody looks here too! I made a
HUGE mistake....I let someone check her Email on my IBM Thinkpad, I am
running windows 98. I have a IPN2120 card, and it worked FINE yesterday.
SOMEHOW she got into diagnostics...why she did the next thing I don't know.
SHE CHANGED MY BIOS. I have no clue what to do. It recognizes the
software..and the hardware, but it is disabled due to a code 29?? It says
that the BIOS isn't giving up an IRQ. I have no clue what this
means....then it tells me to contact the manufacturor of my 'puter to get
and update? Or the manufacturor? Should I just reformat it? I am
UNPLUGGED..I am at the library on their comp, I cannot get on with mine....

You can try to to resolve this error code 29 by enabling the device in the
computer cmos settings. Windows 98 cannot enable the IRQ serttings in the
CMOS .
The CMOS stores the settings that you make with the BIOS configuration
program.
If the system cannot start after a BIOS change that means the CMOS might
be corrupted.
try using BIOS and CMOS Configuration tools or try using the BIOS Setup
auto configure options.
