I just bought a combination router/access point and have two desktop computers in my home. Initially, I will keep one computer wired and use a USB WI-FI adapter for the other one. My question is as follows:

In a month or two I will want to unwire the first computer also. At that time am I correct that all I need to do is to add an adapter to that computer.....or is some configuaration change needed for the router/access point? All setup diagrams show one computer remaining wired, but there is no clear explanation in the users manual. I guess the bottom line question is: can the router/access point work independent of a wired computer?

That is how I set mine up in the first place. The router is connected only to the cable modem, and both PCs are wireless.
