Hi, I dont know much about computers but I am thinking of buying a laptop for moving around and for using in my room. I have three computers in my basement (two windows and a mac) and my room is on the second floor. So thats 3 floors up. I live in an old house with thick walls and floors/ceilings.
In my basement the computers already have broadband (not wireless) but i also want to connect the laptop in my room to broadband.
So. Should i buy a powerful wireless router to go through the ceilings into my room. Or should I trail a wire uo to my room. Or (if its possilbe) should i buy two routers and have one to power the basement computers and another to power the laptop in my room. I could connect these routers into the same phones line so that i do not have to pay for two broadband connections.
Please suggest any ideas you have as you know much more about this stuff than me.
Thanks
Mike
