Can you hook up to a wireless router - to jump to another wireless router? (I've seen wordes like repeater ). Here's the situation: I have a laptop - wired (ethernet) to a wireless router. Now, I'd like to know what software will use the wireless router to scan for open wireless connections (my wireless is downstairs, but the signal is only at 60%). I do not have a wireless card on my laptop (its windows 98 ). But I do have an ethernet card - thus I can connect directly to a wiresless router. How do I see the wireless connections from my wireless router - to point to my wireless router downstairs? (And yes, I know the SSID and passphrase - but wait: what if I didn't even KNOW the connection? ie: does win 98 have a view available networks from the laptop wired to the wireless to find other wireless networks?) Hope I was able to explain myself!
