Alright...I thought I had this WiFi thing figured out...I set up my own wireless connection in my apartment and have no problems surfing the net at home.

HOWEVER...

When I try to connect to an open network at a hotspot... i.e. a business that offers free wireless internet like a deli or coffee shop or hotel... I can't get my computer to utilize that connection. It sees it...connects to it...but when I bring up my browser...NADA...nothing...zip...zilch.

What am I doing wrong? Is it the settings on my firewall or an XP issue? I travel quite a bit with my job, and want to take advantage of these hotspots.

Please advise...

For reference I am using a Dell i8600 with the Dell 1300 b/g Wifi card installed and my OS is Windows XP.

Thanks in advance for your help!
