-/11 March, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/-In controlled conditions, Radio Frequency Identification Devices (RFID) manufacturers have conducted tests devised to gather data on the capabilities of current RFID equipment in situations where multiple interrogators are positioned in close proximity. These tests have simulated the operation of two or more loading bays with varying antenna positions and the potential to use shielding.

FCC To Enhance Homeland Security By Improving Latest Broadband Technology



Washington, DC -/11 Nov, 2004 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- The Federal Communications Commission took an important step to enhance homeland security by improving the ability of public safety personnel to use spectrum at 4940-4990 MHz (4.9 GHz band). The Commission revised technical specifications in the 4.9 GHz band to allow manufacturers to adapt, for that band, technologies that are being used in adjacent spectrum bands, such as the 5.4 GHz Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure (U-NII) unlicensed band and the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) band.

OBSAI Revised RF Module Interface Specifications v.2.0 now available

Wi-Fi Alliance Will Not Certify 802.11n Features Until The Standard Is Ratified



Pre-Standard IEEE 802.11n Products that Create Interoperability Issues Will Lose Wi-Fi? Certification

Austin, TX -/11 Oct, 2004 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- The Wi-Fi Alliance today announced that it will not certify data rate enhancement features based on the IEEE (Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers) 802.11n amendment to the 802.11 wireless LAN standard until the standard is ratified. No IEEE 802.11n products currently exist, and none are expected to exist until the standard is completed in approximately two years (November 2006).
