October 16 2003 /Wi-Fi Technology News/- Thailand's leading mobile operator, AIS and Nokia signed a USD23 million agreement for the expansion of GSM/GPRS and rollout of EDGE networks in the Northern, Central and Southern regions of Thailand.
The deal covers the immediate delivery of equipment and services required for the increasing GSM/GPRS traffic and the activation of EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution) in non-voice strategic cities such as Chiangmai and Phuket.

HP ProCurve Networking led the Ethernet switch market in terms of growth in the second quarter of calendar year 2003, according to the latest report released by Gartner Inc.(1)
Research results from the analyst firm's recent report examining the worldwide layer 2 through layer 7 Ethernet switch market revealed that during the period HP ProCurve's revenue share grew 18 percent with port shipments growing 12 percent. This revenue growth is significant in a market that essentially remained flat quarter-over-quarter. Gartner also reported substantial HP ProCurve growth in the layer 3 fixed switch market, with revenue growing 46 percent and port shipments increasing 65 percent.
