OTTAWA, ONTARIO (July 25, 2003) ? BreconRidge Manufacturing Solutions Corporation (?BreconRidge?), a top 50 global electronics manufacturing services (?EMS?) company, announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire certain assets of the High-Speed Modules business unit of Nortel Networks (NYSE/TSX:NT). The transaction is expected to close in mid-August 2003. The assets to be acquired relate to the design, development, manufacturing, test and sale of high-speed modules applicable to optical and wireless transmission systems, satellite communications systems, radar systems for the defense industry and other microelectronics applications with speeds greater than 10 Gbit/s.

Siemens mobile for short - will invest more than US$ 110 million in research and development (R&D) for mobile phones in Brazil within the next five years. This is globally the fifth R&D center for mobile phones and will be fully integrated into the existing Global Network of Innovation. Siemens mobile is market leader for GSM phones and mobile infrastructure in Brazil and started local mobile phones production in the year 2000. A couple of weeks ago the production of cordless products has successfully started in the country as well. By Autumn 2003 the local wireless modules production will also start. With its regional strategy Siemens mobile plans to continue its success in Latin America.
