Sheffield, UK and Worldwide, November 1, 2003 /Wi-Fi Technology News/- Nokia is to supply its digital TETRA professional mobile radio system to Shenzhen Metro Co., Ltd. in China. The Nokia system will enable secure communications for personnel on the Shenzhen Metro train network, which serves four million commuters a year in the Shenzhen Special Economic Area.

Nokia and Shenzhen SEG Communication Co., Ltd., the subcontractor for wireless subsystem, have signed a contract governing the cooperation. The two companies will jointly construct the Shenzhen Metro TETRA network and provide services for Shenzhen Metro Co., Ltd. Deliveries will start at the end of 2003.
