Asia’s three leading trade shows create buzz for exhibitors


CommunicAsia, BroadcastAsia and EnterpriseIT achieve its exhibitors’ objectives of generating new potential business leads and forming partnerships



SINGAPORE -/June 22, 2004 - The Wi-Fi Technology Forum/- CommunicAsia and EnterpriseIT, Asia’s largest ICT and enterprise technology shows, closed on June 18 at the Singapore Expo after being attended by 33,341 visitors, with a 6.4 percent increase in overseas visitors from 79 countries. BroadcastAsia, which was held in conjunction with the two shows, attracted 15 percent more overseas visitors with a total of 10,038 visitors from 68 countries. Overall, general sentiments from exhibitors were positive. Many felt that the show was very well-organised and that it attracted a high proportion of quality international trade visitors who were genuinely interested in purchasing or sourcing for new technologies.

Regional Radiocommunication Conference Convenes
Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting Plan to be Developed

Geneva, 28 April 2004 —/The Wi-Fi Technology Forum/- ITU is convening the Regional Radiocommunication Conference (RRC-04) to address the technical basis for the planning of the digital radio and television terrestrial broadcasting service in the frequency bands 174-230 MHz and 470-862 MHz for parts of Region 1 (Europe and Africa) and Region 3 (Asia and Australasia). This is the first ITU conference of its kind in fifteen years to deal with the planning of a terrestrial service.
