Hey there.... this is my first post so hi to everyone.

My setup:

PC hardwired into a 2meg ADSL connection, with a Belkin 54g F5D7001 wireless PCI card.

Laptop with a Belkin 54g F5D7011 wireless PCMCIA card.

The network is set up and works fine, i.e. i can share the PCs internet connection and access files etc across the network.

What I have found is that even with the laptop sitting next to the PC i will often not get 54mbps sometimes the rate is alarmingly low. As soon as I move my laptop just out of the room the connection becomes very very weak, and is basically unuseable in other areas of the house. i.e. I wont get a connection if my laptop is in the front room, cant be more than 20 feet away from the PC as the crow flies.

I am looking for some advice regarding how i can improve my signal so that i get a great connnection when they are close, and also to better the range so that i can use it in other parts of the house.

I have the latest drivers downloaded from Belkin.

This 125 mode... anyone know more about this and if i it should work on my setup.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

thanks

Stephen
