hi ppl, am to make an application as part of a project...
it is supposed to use the wireless card on a laptop , use database on the laptop and send a menu to MOBILE devices.. as soon as they enter the network area...

my problem is what technology am i supposed to use on :
1.) LAPTOP end.
2.) MOBILE device end.

please help...

You can use either Bluetooth or Wifi on both end. You can't mix the two technology since they are not compatible. Laptops generally don't come with Bluetooth they generally come with Wifi. Nowdays, a lot of mobile devices come with both wifi and Bluetooth. However, most mobile device manufacturers don't leave the wifi turned on. It draws too much power an your batter would be dead in an hour. Bluetooth use less power an therefore can be left on for a longer period of time. If you want auto linking between the computer and the mobile device I think Bluetooth will be a better solution.
