Product Review Summary: Product Review the book came a quite a shock, it was as advertised brand new. I had oredered a book prior using Amazon.com and it had said Brand new condiontion, well to me this condition means no written items or underlined or highlighted passages in the book, no personal comments interjected throughout the book, and lastly no political dispersions interlaced throughout the book either, should be listed in a brand new book, oh the purchase price, $98 USD, USED...
This book was exactly as described, brand new, in fact the binder cracked as you opened it, the CD was still with the book, and from I have read, it has great examples troughout thec book, unfortunatly,just not in ASD.
Most of the book is LRFD and appears to to be for LRFD, not that I cannot use it, I can't right now, but the book was described to be for ASD as well.
With these two online purchases, I most likely will not purchase books online again, Purchase price Used, $74, USD, Used, resonably priced, and in great condition, just not as advertised, no ASD examples, all LRFD...
Product Review Summary: It's OK, but... This text while having some good design examples, is not through as you may expect.
"Steel Structures: Design and Behavior" by Salmon and Johnson remains a better reference; what can a say, it's a classic. Other useful references would be the "Manual of Steel Construction: Volume II Connections" and for those designers that still remain in love with ASD "Engineering for Steel Construction: A Source Book on Connections" would be a reference to acquire.

Product Review Summary: braced frames and trusses covered Had the information I was looking for in braced frame design using the uniform force method. A large portion of the book is dedicated to braced frame connections and truss connections which a resource I was looking for.
Product Review Summary: This is an example book. If you have some basic knowledge of LRFD design and connection. This would be an OK book. It contains so many example in many load cases and connection type. All of them are hot rolled steel or high force connection. In example it dose not tell how to retrive this equation, reference to variables, and how to use this equation.. you only have to guess. If you guess right, then it can be applicable to real construction.
