Product Review Summary: Constantly replacing We seem to replace our Braun gold coffee filter about every 6-8 months. Inevitably, small holes/tears begin to appear on the bottom or sides of the filter. We've tried washing by hand instead of putting the filters in the dishwasher, but it makes no difference.
Product Review Summary: Doesn't fit all cone style coffee makers We bought this filter today because the package said it would fit every #4 cone style coffee maker on the market. Well, it doesn't. We own a Kitchenaid, and it didn't fit ours. I'm sure this would be a great filter if we had the right kind of machine.

My gold filters tend to last for years, and even when I do replace them, it's not because they've failed but because I feel it's time. Although it's a little messier to get rid of grounds, the filter rinses easily under running water and can be cleaned with a damp sponge. About once a week, I throw it in the dishwasher with no adverse effects. I know others who wash their filters daily this way, and others who refuse to subject their filters to the harsh conditions of a dishwasher - the choice is purely personal.This cost-effective approach to filtering grounds results in a great tasting cup of coffee. I highly recommend this gold filter over the traditional paper cones.
