Product Review Summary: Netgear router works great!!!

Net gear costomer service was incredible, I have never been so happy with a telephone support staff before.

Router works perfect works for the Wii, the PSP, the apple and the Vaio.

Product Review Summary: Set up was a hassle and customer support was completely useless.

The installation was a pain because the following the given instructions on the CD was for naught. When I called customer support they were completely useless, they just went down the basic troubleshooting list they are trained to do and then tell you that there is nothing they can do unless you try installing on another computer. I gave up trying to deal with them and figured out the problem on my own. So far it has been working fine with only one random disconnect since installation. It runs extremely hot though so I wouldn't place it anywhere cramped.

Product Review Summary: This works with CenturyLink DSL and Skype

Don't listen to the Customer Service at Century Link when they tell you that you need to rent there modems. After many bad customer service calls, they went to my place and connected the wires outside my place (which is what the original problem was) and after using the setup CD from Netgear I was online. No other changes are needed to the setup configuration. Be persistent with your service provider. Skype performed perfectly. So far no problems with this product. Netgears customer service is really good too. The centurylink service person put a splitter on my outside connection so there is a dedicated DSL line for one jack in my house, which eliminates any filters for the phones.

Product Review Summary: Probably not for AT&T in SoCal

I plugged this one in and setup was easy. LAN networking was painless using default settings.

The problem is that it won't connect or maintain connection with SoCal AT&T ADSL (using my reliable fixed IP), where other modems will. When it's connected, it's fine, but when there's a power outage or other interruption it will not re-connect. Tried everything, including tech support. They think it's defective, but I don't. Anyhow, back it goes.

Product Review Summary: works great with Covad DSL

I've been using this for about a year now. The automatic configuration did not work with my Covad DSL. I had to call Covad to get the DSL configuration parameters. After I entered those into the DSL modem (along with my account information), the DSL connection has been rock solid. I have it on all the time. Once every couple of months, it loses the signal for a couple of hours. That is more likely due to a Covad problem than a modem problem.

The Wireless-G router works great, too. I have laptop computers, internet radios, and my Tivo hooked up to it and they all work fine. The wireless-G speed is more than adequate for my needs. If you do a lot of big data transfers between computers, then the wireless-N speed may be better for you.

No problems with the wireless encryption. All my devices are able to login OK. No problems using the internet router firewall either. I trust that a lot more than the software firewall in my PC.
