Product Review Summary: Great for small jobs I bought this nail gun to secure molding strips after I tiled the floor. It worked well. My only complaint is it took 2 weeks to receive and it was put in a larger box with very little packing, thus it bounced around in the box during shipping.
Product Review Summary: manufacturer warranty terrible Worked great for nailing about 30 nails. Then jammed. After I cleared the jam, it stopped working. I sent it to FPC Corporation, which is the manufacturer. That was a waste of time and money (for shipping). They did absolutely nothing to fix it and shipped the broken gun back.
Product Review Summary: Surebonder 5950 Electric Nailer with Case I strongly suggest that you do not purchase this product. I used it to attach a chair rail and some trim in one room. It worked fine for almost an hour and then I smelled smoke; it stopped working. I had to borrow a friends' nail gun in order to finish my project. Get yourself a compressor style nail gun and save yourself the frustration.
Product Review Summary: Does a good job I purchased this tool with overnight delivery and came in a eventually did what I expected. Let me explain.
I took the nailer out of the case, loaded it up with nails and the first nail jammed or that is what I thought. I started by using the instructions taking the cover off and started loosening the bolt, the hammer returned to normal and was not jammed anymore.
I think the bolts were over tightened. After that I went on and used the tool as expected.
It does matter what electric receptacle I use during the nailing, if the circuit has enough power, it nails the head down flush, if not; it leaves the head where you have to set it.
So far I love what it does. I use it for nailing quarter round down after new laminate installations.
Product Review Summary: Nail this!!!! I had this thing for awhile now and I like it very much. Initially I thought it was a dud, as I was having problem with it not driving the nails fully into the wood. After reading several reviews on the internet, I found out that using a 12 gauge extension cable or plugging it directly to the AC Outlet will yield better result when you're having issues with the gun losing nail driving power. In fact I was so surprised how powerful it is (that I was playing with it like a kid in a candy store) that I used up all my nails.
In any case, people who reviewed it and gave it low marks due to it's alleged lack of driving power, gave up to quickly. It works people. You just have to remember that this ain't a hair dryer and has a much higher current (amperes) rating.
Note: A 12-gauge wire is wider than 14-gauge wire and thus has less resistance. The lesser resistance of 12-gauge wire means that it can allow charge to flow through it at a greater rate - that is, allow a larger current. Thus, 12-gauge wire can safely support a circuit that uses an appliance drawing up to 20 Amps of current.
