Product Review Summary: Some frustrating things hurt an overall good game.

I loved the Battlefield 1942 game for my PC and I picked up this game for a few bucks and it is good but there are some gripes. These gripes mainly do with frustration. It seems like the enemy AI is extremely accurate but your team mate AI is pretty worthless as they are basically there to be shot. I do not mind completing all the objectives by myself but when your allies are worthless they can cost you the battle. Say for instance you will often be depleted of your allies and be swarmed with a constant barrage of enemy soldiers and then you fail your mission. Your ally AI is brain dead for the whole reason of the hotswapping feature which allows you to line up and take over one of the braindead guys.

What also adds to the frustration is if you die the game automatically hotswaps you to one of these guys which can leave a disorienting feel to it as you might be taking over a guy that is being shot at by 4 or 5 enemies at once. Also what adds to the frustration is you move extremely slow so if you are trying to run and duck for cover to get your bearings you character is so slow you are going to just end up dead. Also there is no difficulty setting. I am the type of person that likes to play on easy mode and work my way up the difficulty ladder. Also you might have an easy mission and then the next one will be extremely hard. It just makes the game feel unbalanced to be honest.

The missions do vary and the weapons available are nice also. Controls work good enough (aiming). The production values are there and it shows. I just cannot shake the feeling that this game could have been so much better. Some will love and some will dislike or even somewhat like it.

The highlight of this game is two things. Those two things that make this game worth playing in extremely short spurts is the great looking graphics and sound. Other than that the only reason to pick this game up is if you get it in the $5 - $10 range. If you can handle the level of frustration that comes along with the game and its shortcomings you might find some fun here. But at the same time there are a lot better games out there.

Product Review Summary: All out XBOX live combat action!

This is an awsome game for XBOX live! True combat action! Twenty four players total per live game, twelve players to a team! Multi small arms, vehicles, boats and choppers!

Product Review Summary: About as good as "Xbox Live" gets...

I used to play the two Far Cry versions on Xbox Live. I thought that was about the best stuff going on the system. (Forget about Halo 2). However, Battlefeild 2 is better than Far Cry. Even though the server will sometimes drop you out of the game and sometimes you can't get into a game for several minutes, Battlefeild 2 is a better playing experience. Playing a whole lot of conquest games (similar to capture the flag) on excellent maps never gets old. Cool tanks to jump into, cool helicopters to master or kill yourself trying to master, cool soldier types to use. Calling up an artillery strike can be very satisfiying. Sometimes being in the thick of a firefight seems extremely realistic. These are good graphics and sound effects. Also the controls are more responsive. When I went back to Far Cry after a week or so of playing tons of Battlefeild 2, the inferior quality of Far Cry's gameplay and it's control issues were obvious. I've gotta give it the highest rating fot it's live gaming alone.

Product Review Summary: Great Addictive Game

This game is great for online play. The single player mode is kind of boring I thought but I didnt get much into it. Online play is aweeessommee. It's alot of fun strategizing with other teamates to storm a flag or all out charge the enemy base. This is a great game that really gets you hooked.

Product Review Summary: Online only - single player not worth it.

Addictive is the only word I can think of to describe this game. Imagine storming an enemy base with 10 of your friends in jeeps, tanks, choppers, all the while you have automatic fire going off all around you, mortar strikes, snipers in the windows....you get the point. The ranking system is another great reason to keep playing. Depending on your playing time and skill, you'll move up through actual military ranks. My only complaint is that some of the medals are extremely tough to get and they are essential to your ascension in rank. But all in all, this is a fantastic game.
