Product Review Summary: Its good for the price I paid... The adapter is good for the price I paid for it. I think its still retarded that 360 doesnt come with a wifi. For you to potentially spend another 100 bucks more for this thing is a rip off really. M$ got over on folks with that. Hopefully you can find a cheap one like I did.
Product Review Summary: Ethernet cables are better, but buy this if it's necessary First of all, the very fact that this is a product is horrible! Sony and Nintendo both offer wireless internet access built into their consoles, so why should Microsoft sell wireless connectivity for a giant $100!? Just when you thought paying an annual fee just to play your games online was bad enough...
Anyway, this product may not be worth the fortune Microsoft demands for it. I bought not one, but TWO of these darn adapters and not one of them worked! That's $200 out of my pockets and into Microsoft's swimming pool of money! My 360 is pretty far from my router, but I decided to buy a whopping 100 ft Ethernet cable from Amazon for the low, low price of only $11. That's a HUGE saving from that wireless scam Microsoft is pulling! What's better: spending $11 on something that works, or $100 on something that may or may not work? I think we all know what the better deal is.
In Microsoft's defense, the adapter is meant to work and people who bought it and got it to work say it's a great device. Just be warned that there's a chance it won't cooperate with your need to go online on your Xbox and an Ethernet cable can easily fix the problem.
Product Review Summary: Gets the job done, but doesn't shine. Very easy setup . The adapter found my network & I just had to type
in my security code.
Have played some Halo 3 & Grid. Also tried watching Netflix movies.
The first time I hooked it up everything was running sweet & fast.
I couldn't believe I was getting hd movies streamed from Netflix.
The amazement lasted for about 1 or 2 days.
Now I continue to have periods of slow down and occasionally
get disconnected from games and Netflix .... even with my laptop sitting nearby
getting a good connection.
At first I thought it was netflix but if this was the case I wouldn't have game
lag too.
Product Review Summary: Functional ! I tried to cut corners to get my Xbox to streamline Netflix movies by using my Samsung tongle but it did not work.I tried using my Oppo wireless bridge or the D-link wireless range booster. Neither worked. So I went ahead and ordered the exclusive Xbox 360 wireless adapter. It arrived today. A friend helped me with the setup and bingo, I am watching 187 via Netflix.
The picture quality is HD and great. I am not sure if it is because of the Xbox 360 Elite or the Netgear N wireless router or my Samsung 52" B750 LCD that I have such crystal clear and crisp picture quality. The audio too is equally impressive. I have not noticed the freezes others have experienced. I was concerned that the adapter will not be compatible with my router as other reviewers had noted in other websites, am I glad it works with my router. My connection speed is 54Mbps. I do recommend this wireless adapter for Xbox live functions.
This is a much less expensive means of watching movies. I have downgraded my Netflix plan from 3 DVDS to 1 DVD with unlimited streaming. Bye- bye to on demand and soon, my Blockbuster plan will be downgraded as I will review its usefullness within the next 30 days.
Product Review Summary: An Expensive PaperWeight At The End I bought this adapter about four months ago and at first it worked pretty well but after buying a N-series router for my wireless home computer network the adapter wouldn't connect at all, after trying various ways I finally found out that this would only not recognize the router but wouldn't accept the higher WPA2 security as well even though it was on the menu selection screen. After contacting Microsoft and hearing what probably a few other hundred people have have heard that they're going to release a newer version that would accept the network I thought "Hey that's great can I send this and get the newer version since I just bought this adapter", but not only are they not giving out a release date of this supposed newer version bought you have to repurchase the damn thing. I'm sorry but after paying [...] for this and hearing that it really pisses me off so now I'm just using an Ethernet cable plugged to my computer and going that way. So if you have a lower router adapter than the N-series than fine this is a pretty good adapter and links up easily but if you're like thousands of others and have upgraded to the N-series router than pass this horrible headache of an item over...
