Product Description

The 54Mbps Wireless G Router offers a complete wireless solution that allows you to share files, an Internet connection, or network resource while protecting your network using enhanced security features. Simply plug your workstations and your broadband modem into the Wireless G router, and configure your broadband connection using its built-in Web Interface. Use the Virtual Server feature to configure any workstation as a Web Server or FTP server easily, allowing users to view files from the Internet. You can also protect your Wireless LAN using 64/128-bit WEP encryption or industry standard WPA-PSK with TKIP or AES algorithms. Increase security by enabling MAC, IP, or Protocol Filtering as well as setting Firewall Rules to limit Internet Access or block malicious intruders from accessing your network.

Product Review Summary: fedora linux ready

low price and linux compatibility were my prerequisites for a router. as a retired computer system manager, i was hesitant to introduce another point of failure. but there was really little to do other than hook it up and go to the url and go through menu. all without involvement with att (ptl). my network consists of a 32 bit computer and a 64 bit computer, both running fedora 11. speed? i can watch justin.tv on wireless.

Product Review Summary: Great, Inexpensive Wireless Router

I found the router to be very good for what I needed. I was looking for a small wired router that I could plug 2 security cameras into and a computer and a cable modem.

The features are great. It has a routing feature that allows you to assign public ports and forward them to private internal ports and IP's, allowing you to set up multiple servers, or cameras, or FTP's or whatever.

Highly recommended.

Product Review Summary: No Problem WAP

I purchased this for a wireless access point for the kids' Wii and Gameboys, the $25 price tag being cheaper than other options. Very easy to set up and use - I've never even looked at the CD. The quick-start steps: plug it into the LAN, disable DHCP, give it an IP address etc, WEP security, set Transfer rate to 2 MBS (for the gameboys), and everything works without further fuss. I'm sure it would handle the routing, DHCP and other LAN chores if necessary.

It's been running about three weeks so far with no issues. I recommend it.

Product Review Summary: Can't beat it, for the price...

I ordered this for my mother. She has a desktop with no wireless and I got her an ipod touch for Christmas, so my requirements were pretty basic. I needed a router with wireless and wired functionality. I didn't need anything blazing fast, and I didn't need it to support a lot of connections. This gets the job done, cheap. I had it shipped to my mother's house, and since she was very excited about using her ipod with the internet, she tried to set it up herself, and failed miserably. My stepfather also tried, and failed. Together, they had it so messed up that the desktop couldn't even access the internet when they removed the router from the setup and just plugged the computer back into the cable modem. When I got there, I reset everything, opened the setup page (192.168.10.1 or something... it's in the instructions.) and went through the wizard. I had them up and running again in about ten minutes, and I'm terrible with networking stuff. Two days later, my mother called me again, and said that the internet wasn't working. I went back to her house, and sure enough, something was wrong. I didn't take the time to figure out what. Again, I reset everything, went through the same process, and it worked again. It's been about two weeks since the last reset, and it seems to be working fine. I'm assuming either my mother or stepfather screwed something up, and that's why there was trouble again.
Pros:
-cheap
-works fine
Cons:
-Don't get this if you want blazing fast network speeds for file sharing or anything. If you want to access the internet, it's plenty fast for that; your internet connection speed is the bottleneck there, not the wireless g speeds.
-Somewhat sub-par instructions/setup wizard.
-Not the sturdiest constructed router I've ever seen, but it's not like you'll move it around much.

Product Review Summary: Setting up friend's network

Was setting up friend network and needed an inexpensive gateway for her network. This worked out just great. Ty.
