Product Description
The Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router is really three devices in one box. First, theres the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect both screaming fast Wireless-G (802.11g at 54Mbps) and Wireless-B (802.11b at 11Mbps) devices to the network. Theres also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Connect four PCs directly, or attach more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection. Once your computers are connected to the Router and the Internet, they can communicate with each other too, sharing resources and files. All your computers can print on a shared printer connected anywhere in the house.

Product Review Summary: You may find this review helpful I pulled my hair out with this router trying to figure out why I could not get full Local Area Network functionality with it.
Linksys tech support was terrible, and they claimed they would not support any file or print sharing due to the problem always being with the various computer operating systems and software firewalls involved. Well, as it turns out, I found out exactly why it did not work, and it has nothing to do with the operating systems or software firewalls or anything like that.
It is this simple: I had a special character in my workgroup name! It seems to me that this router does not handle special characters (e.g. any character above a number on your keyboard) properly when they are in the workgroup name. My previous router was OK with it, but this one is not.
It's a really good router otherwise, and I am revising my rating to 4 stars, up from 2 stars I gave it yesterday!
Linksys needs to realize this issue, even if it may be rare for a user to use a special character in the workgroup name. Other routers do not have this problem, and it is something that should be known.
So, if you buy this router, be sure to double check the name of your local network and keep special characters out of it!
Product Review Summary: Pretty much perfect I have had this router for about three and a half months and it's pretty much perfect. It was incredibly easy to install and is very very fast. It's placed on the lower floor in the back left corner of a very well-insulated house. My bedroom is on the upper floor in the front right corner of the house, and I've never lost the signal. Actually, that's no true: in the first couple of weeks, I lost it 2-3 times and had to reset it (~1 min each time). That was also really easy and hasn't happened since. So maybe it's a 4.9/5. Whatever. It's still great!
Product Review Summary: Good, solid performer I have installed several of these at home and a grade school.
To me, the webpage based set-up makes this simple to set up and tweak as I want. It is also easy to pass through it from a larger network with a server by just setting up the wireless encryption code, turning off dhcp then plugging the ethernet cord into one of the 4 ports allowing the server to handle the addresses/authentication.
I prefer this to the newer style Linksys 54gs, which in my experience have been less reliable (had 2 that dies after only 6 months use) where this old dog just keeps reliably chugging along.
I'll continue to buy these as long as they make them when ever the need arises to add wireless access.
Product Review Summary: The best Wireless Access point only option i had to buy access point was amazon cuz i have to send this to my wife, she lives in USA and I am in Pakistan and only amazon accepts international billing address(including pakistani billing address).
when my wife recieved this product it was very easy to setup. she just followed my instructions on the phone, it was a piece of cake to set this thing secure, setting its SSID and IPs stuff....
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT FROM AMAZON....
Product Review Summary: Wonderful product! Was really easy to set up and works great!
It was my first time setting up a wireless network and my only trouble was not securing it right away so I found a stranger (NANCYSLAPTOP) on my network!!! How rude!!! Pay for your own services people!
I went online to the Linksys website and they have really good info on how to avoid this and other issues so I fixed it and now my network is well protected. (so much for nancys laptop now!!!)
Be sure to go to the website for info on how to set up your network in a safe manner, learn from my mistake ;)
Other than that private experience, so far I love this product!
Hope this helps out :)
