Product Review Summary: Disappointed! I bought this to try and repair something that was broken on a very expensive xbox 360 headset. Didn't work at all. Very disappointed.
Product Review Summary: Does NOT work with all 2.5mm Headsets as stated on package This Xbox 360 Headset Adapter by Intec states right on the package:
"Can also be used with any headset with a 2.5mm jack plug."
Buyer beware - this is not true. I own several 2.5mm jack headsets from various major brands (Panasonic, Plantronics, etc...) and this product will not work with them.
Side note - Just FYI this is only the "puck" adapter and does NOT come with any cables.
Product Review Summary: Piontless adapter, don't waste your money!!! i thought this adapter was going to allow me to use any headphones i wanted... after relizing that i needed a 2.5mm plug (not standard) i wasted an additional 6 dollars at radio shack, to buy an adapter for my adapter... got home and it still doesn't work. so after tons of research i discover that only microsoft products will work for it, although it clearly states on the back of the packaging "-Can also be used with any headset with a 2.5mm jack plug" what a waste of my time and money... i should have just got a regular headset from game stop... f this stupid product!
Product Review Summary: Great idea, horrible execution I loved having the mute button down at the bottom of the cord on the original 360 mics, and was bummed when I saw that they were changing it to an inline mute button that's much harder to find while you're gaming. This adapter looked like the perfect solution for putting the mute button and volume control down where it would be.
Unfortunately, the execution on it is very poor. The adapter just doesn't "fit" into the controller as well as the actual microsoft brand did. It wiggles around, and as such loses contact all the time. The majority of the time you actually use the mute button, the force you put on the adapter will wiggle it free enough that it will lose contact and stop functioning, and then you're playing without being able to talk or hear anyone until you unplug it and plug it back in.
When playing with this, I found any time I didn't hear anyone talk for a minute or so or when anyone didn't respond to something I said I had to ask "can you guys hear me? Hello?" because I wasn't sure if it was this adapter getting loose or people just not talking at that time, it was very annoying. The majority of the time it was the adapter coming loose, and even when it is working it makes you paranoid any time you hear quiet because you know it's so unreliable.
I sent it back for an exchange thinking maybe I just got a bad one, but the replacement was exactly the same. You can tell right when you plug it in that it's not a smooth fit, and it won't be long until it wriggles loose at any given time.
The idea gets a 5/5. The execution is a 0/5. I'd love to find something like this that actually works.
Product Review Summary: Misleading Title I was looking for an adapter that will help me connect my PC headset to the XboX360. I found this item and I was excited that I have found what I was looking for. Unfortunately I was wrong. This is an adapter that will allow you to use your old Xbox headset on the new XboX360 controller or some other kind of headset! Why would anyone be needing a product like that, I have no idea. Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to buy an xbox360 headset than buying this adapter and an another adapter to connect to this one?
The title of this product lead me to believe that this adapter that will help me connect any PC headset to the controller but again, I was wrong.
