Product Review Summary: Impossible to Configure

This router was nearly impossible to configure. I couldn't get it to work with any of my wireless peripherals, from a Slingbox device to a wireless repeater to a powerline adaptor. Nor could anyone I know get their laptop to join the router's wireless network.

I don't know what the problem was, but once I re-installed my old Linksys router, everything worked again.

Routers seem unnecessarily complicated to operate and configure. They are basically the most consumer-unfriendly devices being sold. Next I will purchase an Apple router, hopefully they've come up with an easier solution

Product Review Summary: D-Link D 655

Works great. This is my second D-Link. They both are worth the money.

Product Review Summary: Awful router - don't waste your time and money...

I had this router for a few months and it gave me problems right from the start. I thought at first it might be my computers, but soon realized that it was the dlink router. Upon further investigation I found out that dlink uses cheap parts in their routers and they often burn out.

I'm now using a an AirPort Extreme Base Station from Apple and I couldn't be happier.

I wish you the best of luck if you decide to go with any dlink routers.

Product Review Summary: Best Router Please Read

I bought this router almost a year ago now and have not had any problems with it. It's fast, no down time and don't have to restart it constantly. BUT set up is not what I would call 'very easy'! If you're having trouble with the router ( as I have noticed some people writing the reviews are) don't send it back as most of the time it can be fixed. My advice: Google, read and don't call customer service which I think it's somewhat of a waste of time. Generally simple settings can fix your problems.

Other than that, the router gives me a perfect reception in my house (4000sq ft+) and even outside when I'm in the yard surfing from a laptop. I have both a Mac (running Leopard) and Windows (Win XP and Windows 7) machines that both have easily connected to the internet. I also do not need to walk over to my router and un-plug it to get my internet going which I have had to do with previous routers. Highly Recommended if you want speed, and reliability.

Again, Google or comment if you have trouble and I'll try to help :)

Product Review Summary: A self-reboot/frozen router

This router is a good fit for general purpose as long as you:
- Don't upgrade the firmware
- Don't have a high traffic
- Don't use the built-in USB feature

We upgraded the firmware because we needed to use the built-in USB feature, and the nightmare began:
- The router is frozen and required reboot, few times a day.
- The router will reboot itself if the traffic is high (e.g., several GB in an hour).
- The USB feature didn't work, even we upgraded the firmware.

Since we don't need to wireless feature, we ended up replacing it by Cisco RSV4000.
