Product Review Summary: Stops working after several minutes This item is not easy to install. When I finally got it properly configured, it would run for several hours then simply hang. Now, it will run for a few minutes and then disappear from my LAN, clearly hung. Unplugging/plugging restarts it, and it lasts for another few minutes. Trash. Back to Amazon.
Product Review Summary: Very good camera for the price This camera is very good for the price and easy to install. Just follow the instruction provided then configure your router for port forwarding. If you don't have a static IP address then just use a no-ip service. I was able to access the camera remotely after the configuration. The night version is very poor but if you have lights then it has a very clear picture.
Product Review Summary: Works great but a bear to configure I bought this camera to replace a Linksys WVC54GC that I had for 3 years. The Linksys never did work correctly. (I could only get the e-mail alerts if I said "no video". But it DID make the video. I ended up writing a batch file that sent me any videos it found once a minute. But the number of false alarms...JESUS!) But it did give me peace of mind after my break in.
The IP110 has WAY more features AND it cost less. But ooohhh you need almost a degree in networking to configure it. I exchanged a couple of e-mail with tech support before I got everything working. The manual needs work. I experienced the hanging and it losing the time when I was configuring it on my own. But once everything was configured correctly, it has been trouble-free.
Two notes for buyers:
1. This camera sends photos, not videos. Even the FTP just sends photos. It will MAKE motion detector-triggered videos, but it doesn't send them. I could use the batch file to send the videos like I use to, but the motion detector photos are fast and reliable. I can connect to the camera remotely from work in less than 10 seconds.
2. The manual talks about a Schedule Profile and a Motion Detector profile. The Motion Detector profile is self-explanatory. The Schedule Profile is used to have the camera e-mail photos constantly during a certain time period REGARDLESS of the motion detector. Not sure what the point of that is.
But overall I am very satisfied.
Product Review Summary: IP110 I bought this as my first venture into IP Security. I must admit, that at this price, it's a steal of a deal. Of course, low light visibility is no good as it is not a day/night. For home users, I would recommend the Trendnet line anytime. Excellent product for my needs. Next stop, Day/Night PTZ for outdoors.
Product Review Summary: Small camera This camera is a nice compact one. It is average quality but it is easy to set up and works good.
