Product Review Summary: Am returning. After much trial am sending this phone back for a refund. I just hope that Amazon will support me since I bought it through my Amazon credit card from a third party.
The reviews here are so "all over the map" that I took the chance that I would get a decent phone but to no avail. It's like I have 3 party lines while trying to talk on this phone. I thought the DECT technology was supposed to prevent interference but it's worse than the 5.8 GHz phones that I replaced. I've contacted my wireless ISP etc. but they have no answer as to why I'm able to listen in on my neighbors' phone calls through this phone. And this is just the tip of the iceberg regarding the failings of this phone. Most of the negative reviews here are accurate in my experience with this phone so I won't belabor their points further.
Don't trust the glowing reviews here. I suspect they're ringers (no pun intended) being paid to promote a shoddy product.
Needless to say, when/if I get a refund I'm going back to Panasonic which has a proven track record in my home.
Product Review Summary: Nice and stylish cordless phone set I bought this cordless phone set to replace two older cordless phones
and a separate digital answering machine, all of which we had had for
several years. I spent quite some time reading reviews on different
phones and settled on this one. I've only had it for a few weeks so far,
but I must say I'm quite satisfied with the purchase. The sound
quality is very good and the range is better than any cordless phone
I've had so far. I live on a small farm with several buildings that
are separated by as much as 150 feet and I don't have trouble with
them cutting out unless I go inside or on the other side of the
buildings because they are covered in metal. The base station is in
my house which is of wood frame construction.
I like the large clock displays on the phones and the ability of one
set to communicate with another set via the intercom. I also like the
fact that I can not only see that a new message is available from any
set (via a flashing led) but that I can also get the message(s) from
any set. One of the main features I bought the phone set for was the
speakerphone. Each handset has one built into it. I was getting very
tired of having to hold the old phones to my ear while waiting
forever for a real person when calling a company for help with
something. I was surprised at the quality of the sound from the small
built in speaker and the person on the other end thought the quality
was good too for a speakerphone.
Other nice features are that the keypads are lighted (a nice blue)
and the displays are customizable (via a few different built in
choices). The phones themselves are also very light which makes a
difference the longer you hold it to your ear.
My only disappointments (and minor ones) are that the speakerphone
does not work with the intercom and that the phone bases can not be
wall mounted. The wall mount might have been nice for the kitchen,
but that's where we have our one corded phone so it's not a big deal.
As a side note, for those people wanting cordless phones, don't forget
that they don't work when your electricity is off so it's always good
to have at least one corded phone available for that situation.
One of the best things about a phone set like this it that it uses
only one phone jack. In the past, I've always just added more jacks
and phones for different rooms in the house. Now, there's no need to.
Also, when two or more people want to join the call, there's no drop
in the volume like there is for two separate phones. Now, when my
wife and I talk to our parents, they can hear both of us clearly and
that makes having them -very- worthwhile.
I'm happy with this Uniden product at this point and would buy
another. If I do run into problems, I'll post an update to this
review.
Product Review Summary: Uniden DECT 3080-3 I always purchase UNIDEN, they are the most reliable phone we have ever owned. I have owned them for about 15 years. This model I returned because when checking caller ID and other features you have to push the button twice to access that feature. This may seem like not a big thing and it probably isn't, but I did not like it. I am purchasing the DECT 1580-3 instead, this is similar to the phone I presently own. I am buying this so I have the three handsets.
Product Review Summary: Out of Range!!! ARGHHHHHHHHHHH **UPDATE** SO even after reading some of these reviews about the "out of range" issues, i decided to purcahse the unit regardless. Love the sleek design and the cool banners but have to say totally unhappy with the results so far of this product.
I have been using the unit for about a week now and the problems didnt seem to happen at first. Then about three days in I have been getting that annoying "out of range" condition even when i am a few feet from the base!! I sometimes get in to this mode two-three times during a call and have to wait a few seconds for the call to come back..Really annoying and will be contacting support about this issue. Will most likely be returning the units back to Amazon for an exchange of the old 5.8Ghz. models.
**UPDATE** OK so after calling customer service, the rep told me to move the base out of the basement and move it to an upper floor. THey said that the base in the basement will cause the out of range issue. Well after arguing that i dont see that as being the problem, i moved the base and low and behold, the problem has now disappered and all my issues are gone. Love the phone now!!
Product Review Summary: 6 month review take all the 5 stars reviews and that summarizes this phone very well. had the new panasonic but couldn't hear most callers very well. not sure why maybe the wi-fi or maybe distance with how long/big our house is. wifey was annoyed about this uniden purchase until she could hear people clearly. we love all the features. best price was at samsclub. zero problems with dropped calls. phones are extremely light weight but well built. best phone we've had so far.
