Hi, all,

I am writing to present one problem I have met when using the PPC.

I need to set up a WLAN ad-hoc connection between a PPC and one Laptop. First I use the PPC to create the SSID. Then with the laptop, I can find the SSID and try to connect with it. But the connection is not satisfactory. As my laptop WLAN adaper is Intel Pro 2200BG series, I can use Intel pro software of Windows XP to set up the WLAN. When I use intel pro, the connection just cannot succeed and the IP address assigned is 0.0.0.0. When I transfer to Windows XP, the connection is done but intermittent. For this laptop, the 2200BG driver version is 9.0.*.*. When I use another laptop with the driver version as 8.0.12.20000, the connection quality is much improved. But the problem here is that this 8.0.12.20000 drive is difficult to find for downloading, even on the manufacture's website.

What is more, If I use othe WLAN devices concurrently, such as a NetGear external wireless adapter, the connection nentioned above is very stable. Here I guess the problem may lies in the PPC tranmitting signal power or something. With the bridge of the netgear adapter, the laptop can easily accept this signal. Is this correct?

I am quite confused about the problem. So if you know the related info or any solving method, pls tell me. Thank you so much!

Best Wishes,
HWB
