Hope u already have an Desktop PC and broadband connection.
OK let me explain your scenario first. Now u have a Desktop PC having
broadband connection and a laptop with wireless internet connection. For
laptop with wireless connection u need to have a PCMCIA card(wireless card)
hardware.
Before that for wireless connection you need an AP (wireless Access
Point). To the WAN port of AP Internet connection will be given probably a
broadband connection. This AP will have a spectrum range and have a
frequency also.
When u plug a wireless card into the PCI slot of laptop it will detect this
wireless AP(card and AP must be compatible type). For associating you must
specify the SSID as that given in AP.SSID is service set identifier. It is
ID for communicating the wireless station with AP.If both SSID are same
they will get associated and will ready to communicate.U can access
internet from the station(laptop).
Now you can use internet for communicating Desktop PC and laptop through
WAN.
For LAN communication u must install a PCMCIA bridge and PCMCIA card
bus9wireles card) to ur Desktop PC.Follow the same procedure we discussed
for communicating between AP and laptop. Now ur laptop and Desktop PC will
get associated to same AP which is in the same subnet. Thus we can establish
Wireless LAN communication.
U must make ur connection secure to avoid hackers.
