Hi,
Im pretty new to all this, so bear with me.
i have a laptop with wireless 802.11g/b, and was given a belkin F5D6130
wireless access point.
I have a cable internet connection, and i am wondering if its possible to
connnect to the net by plugging the modem into the access point, and then
wirelessly to the access point.
my wireless program can see it but cant connect to it, and the belkin
wireless access point manager says the following when i try to scan for
AP:
Dart.TCP.1 Remote host does not exist.
can anyone help me connect to it?
or tell me im dreaming so ican give this thing back and get a router?
Hi shmee
Your best bet is to take it back swap it for a Router (without a built in
modem as you are on cable). Hardwire the Router to the modem using an
ethernet cable to configure the network (interface will take you through
set-up). After this is up and running set up the wireless. Try and replace
the access point with wireless router that is recommended by your ISP that
way if you have any connection problems they will give you tech help over
phone.
