I'm writing this in a word processing package before attempting to post it,
as my connection is going up and down like a kangaroo that has got a pogo
stick for its birthday, literally every 30 seconds or so.
My router is a Linksys WAG200G which until yesterday night had been sitting
quite comfortably for a week or so at 6000kbs(down) and 448(up). I
installing the beta firmware 1.01.05(01) from the linksys ftp site, before
it would frequently disconnect and display a negative db downstream value
until this delightful period of stablity I thought Id cracked it, talk
about cursing yourself.
So this is the process I went through to get to this point: Thinking it
might be a problem with my line, Phoned my isp, performed all of the tests,
to no avail. replaced my bt master socket with an adsl splitter master
socket, replaced the line between the socket and router and also had a bt
enginneer out to check the line which he cleared as fine so I can say its
not a problem with my line.
One of my worst resyncs was:
DSL Modulation: G.dmt
DSL Path mode: Interleaved
Encapsulation: PPPoa
Multiplexing: VC
Downstream Rate: 160kbs
Upstream Rate: 192kbs
Downstream margin: 17db
Upstream margin: 6db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 37db
Upstream Line Attenuation: 13.5db
Please could you help me with any suggestion as its driving me nuts. Is
there a firmware upgrade that may solve my problem?
Many thanks, in advance for any help
P.S My router has lost my internet connection several time during this post
so heres hoping.
