AT&T Names Kevin Crull to Head Wireless Initiatives

AT&T Names Kevin Crull to Head Wireless Initiatives

Morristown, N.J., March 26, 2004 /Wi-Fi Technology News/- Kevin Crull, 39, was named senior vice president and general manager-wireless services, and will head AT&T's efforts company-wide...

In naming Crull, AT&T Chairman and CEO David Dorman said, "Our choice of Kevin, one of the best marketers in the industry, underscores our commitment to providing our customers with new, innovative offers that stress mobility, convenience and control of their communications. In addition, today's announcement further demonstrates an ability to grow our business by expanding our product lines.

"Recent announcements by wireless carriers of possible consolidation have opened an opportunity for us to advance our strategic intent and become an even more fully integrated communications services provider for both businesses and consumers," Dorman added. "AT&T, with its strong industry brand, already has tens of millions of business and consumer relationships supported by world-class channels and industry-leading operations that can deliver an unsurpassed portfolio of services to the marketplace."

Prior to his appointment Crull was senior vice president of marketing and sales at AT&T's consumer division. Over the past three years -- as state policymakers across the country instituted cost-based unbundled network element rates for local-phone competitors such as AT&T -- he led the division's entry into local-voice and DSL services. As a result, AT&T's local market presence grew from two states, 800,000 subscribers and less than 5 percent of the consumer division's revenue to 35 states, more than 4 million subscribers and more than 30 percent of the division's revenue respectively.

In addition, Crull expanded the unit's portfolio of stand-alone and bundled services. He introduced a variety of creative, industry-leading offers including the company's flagship consumer offer, AT&T One Rate USA?, which includes local and long-distance service; AT&T One, combining local, long-distance and wireless service into one convenient consumer offer; and a variety of ground-breaking unlimited domestic and international calling plans.

Before joining the telecommunications industry, Crull spent nine years in consumer-packaged goods. He then served in several executive positions at U.S. West, including running its $5 billion consumer business, and was chief executive officer of esp Networks, Inc, a wireless venture. He joined AT&T in June 2001.

Crull serves on the board of the Center for Telecommunications Management at the University of Southern California. He holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of San Francisco.
