Asia?s three leading trade shows create buzz for exhibitors
CommunicAsia, BroadcastAsia and EnterpriseIT achieve its exhibitors? objectives of generating new potential business leads and forming partnerships
SINGAPORE -/June 22, 2004 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- CommunicAsia and EnterpriseIT, Asia?s largest ICT and enterprise technology shows, closed on June 18 at the Singapore Expo after being attended by 33,341 visitors, with a 6.4 percent increase in overseas visitors from 79 countries. BroadcastAsia, which was held in conjunction with the two shows, attracted 15 percent more overseas visitors with a total of 10,038 visitors from 68 countries. Overall, general sentiments from exhibitors were positive. Many felt that the show was very well-organised and that it attracted a high proportion of quality international trade visitors who were genuinely interested in purchasing or sourcing for new technologies.
?We are glad to be back this year and we intend to keep coming back. We are sorry that CommunicAsia was cancelled last year. We have had quality visitors coming to our booth and generated 500 new contacts on the first two days of the show, from South East Asia, India, Africa, Indonesia and Thailand. We?re now doing business with people we met at CommunicAsia2002. We introduced new Ethernet and DSC ports for the first time in Asia at the show,? said Judy Clark, who does business development for Cape Range Wireless.
Other exhibitors found the show equally productive and some also noticed the sharp increase in mainland Chinese exhibitors and overseas visitors.
?We?ve had 80 new leads in the last two days of the show. There?s been an enormous amount of visitors. I?ve noticed that there are more mainland Chinese exhibitors this year than in previous years, which is positive. There?s also an increase in overseas visitors. The shows are good and seem to be very well-organised and structured,? said Sue Day, Marketing Director, Asia Pacific, Polycom.
For some, the idea of holding all three events simultaneously was an effective way of creating greater synergy and broadening the scope of customers.
Mike Diliberto, International Technical Manager for Motorola Canopy said: ?It has been a very profitable show for us. We?ve had a tremendous amount of leads. Our sales reps will be very busy.?
His colleague, Rangel Floranda, Technical Manager for Motorola Canopy, South East Asia, felt that their participation in the show was worthwhile, ?It?s been very productive and we?ve had leads mostly from Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal and the Philippines. Having all the three shows together is a good idea because it increases the spectrum of customers and it also enables visitors to relate the different technologies to one another.?
BroadcastAsia exhibitors were equally satisfied with the show turnout. Some commented on the fact that they achieved their objective of meeting many potential customers to demonstrate their latest products.
?Once again, BroadcastAsia has managed to capture the current trends in the changing broadcast market by attracting all the key players both manufacturers and our customers,? said Brett Smith, International Marketing Manager, Miller Fluid Heads
?We have managed to meet a lot of old as well as potential customers at BroadcastAsia and introduced them to our latest products. We have achieved our objectives. The crowd is relevant to the industry. We will most likely return next year,? said William Tay, manager, broadcast & communication dept, Fuji Koki Singapore
